We started with a cross-hatch sand using a deck sander, then used orbital and 3x4 sanders to clean up tight and cupped areas.
Finished with Cutek Extreme + Rustic Gold, a penetrating oil that soaks into the wood rather than forming a surface film.
That also makes future maintenance much easier. Instead of stripping off a peeling or flaking coating, the deck can be cleaned, prepped and refreshed with another coat as needed.
