*Rant time*

It BLOWS my mind that GCs even recommend using Fittes. I mean no offence, and I’m not trying to downplay the quality of the product (in the right use case).

But having your vents custom made out of the same material as the rest of the floor just makes so much more sense.

It costs way less and it looks way better. It’s kind of a no-brainer if you’re doing multiple vents in a renovation.

The skills transfer.

Time management - Two-a-days and a running business, You gotta make every hour count.

Delayed gratification - One workout changes nothing. Months & years of consistency does.

Doing the work - Motivation is optional. Showing up isn't.

The range hood, the backsplash, the custom floor vents, the counters, cabinets and hardware. None of these choices were by accident.

PET is a great alternative to a painted MDF, especially in a public washroom like this with high traffic, lots of moisture – and an almost guaranteed requirement for us to come back and touch up the cabinets on the regular.

A successful renovation is about so much more than just picking a design, throwing it together and moving onto the next one.

Maybe that’s the case for some GCs, but that’s not how Davies does it. We lean on our extensive network of industry pros, drop the ego, ask for advice and make the best material choices possible for our clients.

Only with custom cabinetry.

On every kitchen renovation project we’ve taken on, storage is always such a huge factor in terms of the decisions we make with the homeowner.

Pots, pans, large and awkward appliances – they all need somewhere to go. The last thing you want to be doing after a kitchen renovation is having to dig into the back of deep cabinets that should have been addressed during the design phase.

Renovations are meant to solve problems. Inefficiencies – little things that bother you about your space.

Our initial conversations are meant to understand what you don’t like about your kitchen. The rest of it is addressing those issues so we can change the way that you live every day.

I don’t want to gloat too much here… But what other general contractor would have walked into a cramped side split and said “this needs to be a vaulted ceiling?”

Getting here took a lot of conversations, careful consideration to structure and continual effort – but here we are. And while we didn’t add any additional square footage to the space, this new main floor feels MASSIVE compared to where we started.

Height gives the illusion of width, and these client’s lifestyles will never be the same.

You can have this too – it’s just one phone call away (then of course, a bunch of stuff happens after that… But you know what I mean, give us a call – let’s chat about your goals).

Faux limewash finish with a picture frame tv and a built-in fireplace – the space needed it, and Davies GC delivered.

We tied this look in with the same treatment on the range hood in the kitchen, creating a cohesive space that makes each individual detail feel like it belongs in the design as a whole.

It’s small decisions like these that make a Davies renovation a Davies renovation.
