Job Title: Oil Heat Systems Technician (Oil Burner Mechanic)
Location: Middle Stewiacke, NS
Compensation: $20 - $35/hour, paid bi-weekly
D&T Heating & Plumbing Ltd. is a family owned and operated business based in Middle Stewiacke, NS that has been servicing Truro and the surrounding area for 25 years. We are seeking a full-time journeyperson Oil Heat Systems Technician to join our growing team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining residential and commercial oil-fired heating systems, including oil burners, boilers and furnaces, fuel oil supply systems, electrical controls, pipe fitting, duct work, etc.
• Performing annual maintenance on oil-fired boilers, furnaces, and water heaters
• Troubleshooting and repairing hydronic and forced air heating system issues
• Laying out hydronic heating systems, including baseboard and in floor heating
• Ensuring all work performed meets municipal, provincial, and federal codes
• Professionalism and strong dedication to customer service
• Attention to detail – at D&T we strive for both functionality and aesthetics in our work
• Working independently and as part of a team as required
• Having and maintaining your own tools and safety boots
Preferred Experience:
• Plumber certification or experience
• Cutting and threading pipe, soldering pipe, etc.
• Familiarity with ventilation systems
Qualifications:
• Trade Certification as an Oil Heat Systems Technician in Nova Scotia
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
Hours:
• Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with alternating weekends on call.
• Occasional overtime will be required.
