Full Job Description
Garland Grounds has been serving the Brighton community and surrounding areas for several years now. We are seeking Full-Time / part-time horticultural property maintenance crew members who work well with others, take pride in their work, and can deliver a high standard of workmanship in an efficient manner. This is seasonal work.
Job Duties:
⁃ Ground support for trimming operations.
⁃ Chainsaw and chipper operation / loading brush.
⁃ Assist crew members in the site setup, debris removal, cleanup and equipment maintenance.
⁃ Abide by industry safety policies and procedures
⁃ Controlling road and sidewalk traffic as needed
⁃ Demonstrates initiative: ability to think, work and make decisions based on sound judgement
⁃ Comfort working in a fast paced environment with extreme weather fluctuation
⁃ Ability to cut and trim lawns
⁃ Ability to maintain flowerbed.
Job Requirements:
⁃ Valid “G” drivers license
⁃ Ability to back up various sizes of trailers
⁃ Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs
⁃ Personable to clients and other employees
⁃ Ability to walk, stand, crouch for long periods of time and carry out strenuous physical tasks
⁃ Previous forestry / arboriculture experience co sided an asset
⁃ Ability to work safety as per of a team and possess the willingness to learn and progress
⁃ Previous work in horticulture
⁃ Previous in lawn maintenance
⁃ Previous landscaping experience
⁃ Plant knowledge and experience in plant care is ab asset
Type of work:
Lawn and property maintenance, hedge trimming, tree care and garden work
Work Week:
Monday to Friday (40-50 hours per week). May to December ( may be required to work occasional weekends)
Wage:
Will be based on experience
