We had a busy and rewarding few days working alongside our colleagues and friends at the Notre Centre in Grand-Digue, NB, and the Cocagne Marina in Cocagne, NB.

Employees and community members, along with our partners from the GDDPC, representatives from the Community of Beausoleil, and Grade 7 and 8 students from a nearby school, came together to learn, work hard, and contribute to local restoration efforts. Throughout the project, participants explored the importance of healthy ecosystems and gained hands-on experience with the nature-based methods we use to restore and protect shorelines and aquatic environments.

Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make these projects such a success. Together, we are building healthier, more resilient communities and ecosystems.

So proud to continue our commitment to the Ecology Action Centre and Nature!

There’s a moment, before anything is planted…

when you stand on the land
and begin to understand what is already there.

The slope.
The movement of water.
The soil beneath your feet.

This is where design truly begins.

I’m offering a 6-week Ecological Landscape Design course this May–June, where we move through that process — learning to observe first, and design second.

It’s a different approach.
One that builds resilience, rather than working against the land.

📅 Wednesdays: May 6 – June 17
(No session May 27 as I’ll be speaking at the Atlantic Adaptation Conference in Halifax)

⏰ Choose your session:

Afternoons (1–4 PM):

Evenings (6–9 PM):

📍 Online

💲 $1,460 (includes HST & Eventbrite fees)

For those ready to deepen their relationship with the landscapes they care for.

🌊 We were recently featured in The Signal Halifax.

The article speaks to the growing kelp industry in Nova Scotia and some of the realities of working in that space.

Our work has always been grounded in restoring soil and stabilizing shorelines using natural systems.
