💧 Flood Protection Subsidy Program is Back in 2026!

This program helps property owners protect their homes and businesses. Property owners can receive funding to install:
✅ Up to $2,500 for a sump pump and pit
✅ Up to $1,500 for a backwater valve

Program Details:
• Subsidy funding is available for up to 75% of materials and installation costs
• Work must be completed by a licensed plumber
• New construction is not eligible
• Open to all property owners within City of Brandon boundaries

Taking proactive steps now can help reduce the risk of basement flooding and sewer backups.

We are sure you’re all counting down the minutes until this cold snap is over! 🥶 In the meantime, make sure your furnace venting and gas meter are clear of ice/snow build up - check out this tip from Manitoba Hydro about keeping things clear.

Let it snow! But don’t let the snow build up. If snow and ice accumulate on gas meters and furnace intakes/exhaust, it can cause gas leaks or produce deadly carbon monoxide fumes. Carefully clear snow from these areas using your hand or a broom.
