North Echo is a Muskoka-based building company focused on crafting custom cottages & boathouses that feel grounded, thoughtful, and built to last. Since 2012, our approach has been shaped by a deep respect for the landscape, a commitment to craftsmanship, and the belief that the best properties are not only well-built, but well-considered.

Founded by Kip Phillips, North Echo has grown into a trusted team known for delivering high-quality builds rooted in care, collaboration, and attention to detail at every stage of the process. Today, that same philosophy continues to guide every project we take on - creating spaces designed to belong both to the people who live in them and the land they sit on 🌲

Last week’s water levels brought some wild conditions across Muskoka 🌊

Our team was out on the lakes ensuring our clients’ properties were protected - raising items in boathouses, monitoring conditions, and taking the extra steps needed to minimize damage wherever possible.

In the middle of it all, we also came across a stray boat drifting through open water. We were able to tow it to safety and help get it back to its owner; a small moment, but one that speaks to the kind of care we bring to every project - and to our Muskoka community 🤝

Getting closer to the finish line on Camel Lake ✨

This modern Muskoka cottage is starting to take shape - defined by clean lines, sharp finishes, and a design that sits naturally within its surroundings.

Inside, it’s the details that bring everything together: vaulted ceilings in the kitchen, floor-length windows that draw in the landscape, and custom elements - from floor grates to built-ins - designed to blend seamlessly into the space.

Every decision here is intentional - and designed to capture the beauty of our Muskoka environment.
