With the weather being indecisive, flooding is a concern for many. Its always a good idea to check your storage rooms/sheds.
A good tip :store non waterproof items in bins, utilize pallets to lif items up off of the floor and check the corners of the rooms that are susceptible to flooding

Do you have a small repair or upgrade in your home? I can advise you on some basics, so you can do your own minor repairs!
Stop by my page to see some basic tips. I will post occasional videos and photos.
And I am only a message or call away if you have questions. I am happy to share what advice I can.
Also, make sure that you NEVER try to repair electrical or plumbing yourself. The professionals have extensive training and tools to keep you safe.

Today's tip: cabinet doors sag or are loose. Tightening the screws isn't working?
Use the toothpick trick!
1. Take the screw(s) out that are loose. Are the holes stripped or 'blown out'?
2. Break the pointed end off a wood toothpick (long enough to fill the blown- out screw hole)
3. Put wood glue into the hole, enough that it comes out a little when the toothpick end is put in it. Just wipe the excess glue with a damp rag.
4. Once its dry, just screw the hinge back on right into the repaired hole!
Now take a beat to be proud. You did that!

The weather has been great for getting out and enjoying the vitamin D. However, the melting snow sure makes a mess of the yards and driveways.
It can be very tempting to push the snow off of the roof with a shovel or broom when it gets heavy. Unfortunately, you can damage shingles, metal roofs etc. Not to mention the danger of falling.
There are reasons to get the snow off of the roof when it gets this heavy, but it is also best to leave it be in a lot of cases. HOWEVER, hire people who have the proper tools and experience to not damage the roof.
There are several home maintenance jobs that are best left to the pros.
