POV: You own a business, but your bank account doesn't know it yet.

They see the equipment, the truck, the trailer, and the jobs rolling in and think you're making millions.

What they don't see is the fuel, insurance, repairs, payroll, equipment payments, and all the other expenses that come with running a business.

Having $30 CAD in your account while waiting on $30K in payments is a different kind of entrepreneurship!

But we keep showing up, putting in the work, and trusting the process. One day, the struggle will become part of the success story.

To my fellow business owners: What's the most expensive lesson running your own business has taught you?

EVERY BEAUTIFUL LAWN STARTS WITH SOME DIRTY WORK!
When you see fresh green grass, it’s easy to notice the finished result. But underneath that transformation is the part that takes the most effort—the preparation.
This yard needed a fresh start, and the Gego Mow & Snow team got straight to work! From removing the old grass to preparing and leveling the soil, then carefully laying the new sod, we worked through each stage to bring this space back to life.
Watch the video and you’ll see it come together, one roll at a time.
For us, it’s about giving our customers a space they can enjoy again. Somewhere to step outside with a morning coffee, spend time with family, or simply look out the window and feel good about their yard.
A small lawn can make a big difference to how a backyard looks and feels. You don’t always need a complete redesign—sometimes a fresh lawn is the change that brings everything together.
And the care continues after installation. Fresh sod needs attention while it settles in, so we help our customers understand how to care for their new lawn and give it a good start.
That’s the effort behind getting GEGOFIED: showing up, putting in the work, and taking pride in the result.
What’s one thing you would change about your yard? Fresh grass? Cleaner garden beds? A proper fall cleanup? Tell us in the comments!

If you’ve been putting off a yard project, send us a message. A site visit works best so we can see what’s needed and give you a clear estimate.

POV: You arrive at the first job site and realize you’re still wearing slides 😂🩴
The wet, overcast weather today had my brain a little cloudy—but the work still had to get done! And with leaves already starting to fall, this was the reminder: fall cleanup season is coming fast! 🍂🍁
Don’t wait until your lawn is completely buried. Book your fall leaf cleanup early and let us get your property GEGOFIED before winter!

Landscapers & Homeowners — I genuinely want your feedback! 👇
As a small business owner, I'm always trying to find better ways to grow while keeping my marketing respectful and professional.
One thing I've started doing is leaving a lawn sign after completing a job—but only with the homeowner's permission. My thinking is simple: if someone likes the work we've done, maybe their neighbours will notice too and know who to call when they need similar work.
That said, I know everyone has different opinions, so I'd love to hear yours.
🏡 Homeowners:
Would you allow a contractor to leave a lawn sign on your property for a few days after the job is complete?
If yes, what would make you comfortable saying yes?
If no, what would be the biggest reason? Privacy? HOA rules? Appearance? Something else?
Would a discount, gift card, or future service credit make a difference?
🌿 Fellow landscapers and contractors:
Do lawn signs actually bring you new customers?
How long do you typically leave them out?
Do you ask every customer, or only certain ones?
Have you noticed a real return on investment?
What other marketing has worked better for you—Google reviews, Facebook groups, door hangers, referrals, flyers, yard signs, or social media?
I'm still learning what works best, and I'd rather hear from people with real experience than guess. Every successful business started somewhere, and I'm always looking for ways to improve while respecting my customers and their properties.
Whether you've had great success with lawn signs or think they're a waste of money, I'd really appreciate your honest opinion. Let's help each other grow. Looking forward to reading everyone's thoughts! 👇🌱
