Well today marks the 10th year of owning and running my own business at a full time capacity. I was told it is Feist or Famine running your own business and yes, 100% it was and still is. The best part of it all are the clients, people, and friends I have met along the way. I cannot see doing anything else other than this.
I started as Lahay Contracting while still working a full time job and in between doing roofing jobs. I later changed it to That Roofer Guy for obvious reasons and then added Handyman when construction and roofing slowed during the pandemic based on skills I have obtained over the years working with a custom home builder as well as other non roofing jobs.
My business has always been there, even when I thought it was done. It has survived a pandemic, a housing crisis, homelessness, but has provided to pay expensive hotel fees for years on end and it pays solely for the two children I have full time.
I wouldn’t be here without my clients, or the friends, clients or family sharing my story and my business. I owe everything to them, along with hard work and dedication. I’ve made mistakes along the way but learned from them for a much better, brighter business future.
I enjoy this, I enjoy most jobs I do, there are certain ones I don’t enjoy as much but I also have accumulated a lot of tool along the way, one time having to start ALL over.
I don’t think I’ll ever retire, or tire of this job.
Thank you for being alongside of me every step of the way.
