The osteopath was at the farm last week and saw Tuff. She said he was in very good condition, just needs a little more work in his life to condition his topline. Ella doesn't love making him work if he'd rather not, and the turkey had become very good at pretending he's sore to get out of work 😂. I see more work in your future buddy!
He is now Ella's horse!! Breanna agreed to sell him, and then wound up basically giving him to Ella. We are trying to find him a saddle then fits properly, and we have the vet scheduled to come out next week to be sure he's comfortable. They will also take X-rays to see the status of the cyst on his pasturn. That will be important information, as it's what makes him unsound and causes his pain. Almost sound is as good as it gets for Tuff, and thankfully he's been minimally sore lately. Ella still helps him stretch, and does physiotherapy type exercise with him to keep him as healthy as possible.
Ella is working more than full time now. She does not have time to paint with him at the moment, but he seems to be happy, and he gets lots of enrichment in other ways. She has purchased a Bemer blanket for the horses, and it really seems to help them feel their best. Tuff gets treated with it at least 3 times per week, and absolutely loves it.
Anyway, I hadn't posted an update in a long time, and I know Tuff has a lot of people that love him out there. I thought at least a few of you would like to know how our boy is doing ❤️
