Hi Everyone!

Long while in between again!🌺

As fall has officially arrived, I guess, temperatures have dipped and my need for warmth, cuddles and comfort have kicked in. So, tonight for supper menu, I decided on a childhood staple that my mother made often. My dad, at the time, claimed to not really care for it.
Curried Hamburger. 🌺

However, years after Mom went Home, Dad asked me include it as one of his ‘favourite’s’ in the ‘just reheat’ meals that I prepared for him each week in plastic, segregated, meal -freezeable containers. ❤️

As it’s been so long since I’ve had that ‘taste’ of Home now, I decided tonight to make up a batch for myself, adding a little of my own tweakability by adding in a baked Broc/Cauli in Cheese sauce, instead of boiled/buttered veggies, and a yummy Garlic-mashed tater instead of plainJane regular “mashed” that mom would’ve made. The Curried Hamburger recipe is her’s and that won’t change ever. ❤️
Bon appetite’.

Have a blessed evening, Everyone.

Hi Everyone.

Long time to post anything much to do with restoration processes, but getting ready today for upcoming winter.
Always a story to be told behind the pictures I post…

The heart shaped plant hanger…

In 2002, when my mother was battling cancer, a cousin brought this hanger to the hospital and another cousin set it up outside the window of Mom’s room so we could hang a hummingbird feeder for her. It’s been travelling with me now since my father passed fifteen years after she did.

When I attempted to put it into the ground here, at my new residence, it broke into two separate pieces, as the original tack welds finally gave out.

Thankyou and shout out to my brother-from-another-mother, Glenn. ❤️. He ‘beefed’ up all the welds for me. Today I had opportunity to , quickly give it a top coat of Flat Black Rustoleum and get it back into the ground at its new home before winter sets in.🌺

The kitchen window tracking that holds the exterior screen shattered into pieces, so it is in repair process tonight and resting to cure. Thankfully we are to see a few more days of beautiful weather, so should be able to see this through to completion tomorrow. 🌺

The scythe is another project for complete restoration this coming winter, acquired off hand but reminiscent of my ancestors when they originally settled in Neerlandia, Alberta.

I hope everyone has a blessed afternoon.🌺

Hiya!
So, if you’ve followed me from my homepage…
Today am back into cooking ‘things’. 🤭
Yesterday saw containers of Tortellini Salad and Louisiana Gumbo, for both friends and my own freezer. Tonight I have Cheese-Onion/Garlic Bread cooking up for the freezer. Thinking later in the week to make up more Italian/Parmesan Buns for Pizza Subs. May put together some classic Dijon/Rye for Roast Beef Subs/ aka Beef Dip. Wanting to make up some Philly Cheese Steak Subs as well.
Onward! 🌺

Hi Everyone!

Welcome to adaptation! 👏

For any that don’t already know, yes. I have relocated and I am still working on setting up my new environment. With all the rain this season, just managing the tent caterpillars, the ongoing move and the grass in between downpours has almost used up my outdoor project time for this season; this being explanation for why my posting vanished. 😂

To all my customers of past, present and future, give me a shout, and thank you for all of your ongoing support. 🌺

Hi Everyone!
A long time again between posts on the business page, I know… 😔

Been working at a few new sewing ideas this last week. I have come up with a free pattern I found on a YouTube channel I subscribed to… I am now tweaking for my home computerized sewing machine. lol
It doesn’t like crazy thick seams. Generally, it is completely happy hemming jeans and such, but I have a NEW idea that incorporates all of my upholstery swatches. They are now outdated books, so rather than throw them all away, I decided to repurpose the fabrics in them.

Having said that, it’s not a job for the faint of heart, as all of the sticky paper backings need to be removed before I am willing to put the material through my sewing machine.

So!

Yes. NEW projects and tweaking as I go! Today I have finished Number three of my glasses pouches. Not quite where I need it to be, but VERY close!! lol

I also have a new area rug-top pieced and sashed…in a simple four square block pattern. Start simple, right? 😊

So, hope you all have a blessed afternoon! 🌺

Hi Everyone!

Long time again… I know!👍

Have come up with a new project, and am very excited to ‘get into it!’

As all of my upholstery swatch books are outdated, ( ready for the garbage receptacle otherwise)…
I decided to break down the seven year old massive stash of swatches into useable quilting pieces!
My first PROJECT using these swatches will be area/throw rugs…
HTS or QTS blocks… a simple block design, until I get a ‘feel’ for using all these HEAVIER fabrics in my sewing machine vs. actual Upholstery piece work. It will be another entire learning curve, but am excited to dive in!👍🌺

The pictures only represent a couple of smaller stacks of swatches I now have to sew with, so I’ve chosen fabric colors/combos that will ‘match’ my kitchen colors for this FIRST attempt!

Stay tuned!

Have a blessed evening!

Hi Everyone!

Another busy stretch here, catching up many ‘things’ around home.
As the snow has MOMENTARILY ceased, I spent last weekend designing improved, taller boots for my pup, Peanut. When there has been such deep snow, even though clearing for their short little legs, it is a challenge!

Today heralded another monthly grooming session. Tomorrow will see their nails completed as well.
Just like them, I’m always thrilled to have it behind us for another month! 😂

Have a blessed evening, Everyone.🌺

Hi Everyone!

A TALLER set of boots for ShihTzu , Peanut, today! ( Alberta winter!!!🤣). The original sets I had made them are still going strong, but these newbies are TALLER, and have double layers on the sole for more warmth! Keep those little pads warm and dry!!!🌺.

With all the snowfall in these last two months, these short legged pups have needed constant clearing just to do some ‘biz’ out there!!
Now on my way out to clear today’s
new snowfall!
Stay warm and blessed, Everyone!🌺

Hi Everyone!

Well into January’26, and enjoying a few warmer temperatures than -41 of last week!
Though I normally try to take weekends off from the business, I felt the need to finish out hemming pair of pants for Caitlyn this weekend.
Jewel’s has seen some sewing in this last week, starting with another zipper replacement in a child’s winter parka. Cold enough that I empathize with anyone needing outer gear ready for our inclimate weather here in Alberta in January!
Hopefully everyone is warm and healthy this afternoon . 🌺
