Beautiful staircase (2026).

These stairs and railings are made of Maple with engineered hardwood inlay and stainless steel ballusters. It took 11 different stains to find the one that met client expectations. The stain colour is called Jacobean. It took several hours to prep and a few tricks to correct blemishes, but they turned out quite nice with nice contrast on the treads.

Late night in the shop creating this custom mantle - 82" x 7 1/4 × 4 1/2". It's made of solid, old Fir. It came to life with fine joinery and a square plug. The original dentils needed to be widened by hand due to the old wood splitting. Great character. It turned out great. The installation will be done with hidden brackets so the mantle "floats".

This deck was built last fall. After it seasoned for several months and over winter, it was stained with a premium quality oil stain. The colour is Teak. Staining a deck brings the project to life.

This flooring is from 1947. The age of the home. I had fun refinishing it, which included lacing in replacement sections after relocating HVAC supply and return lines. You'll note that the underside of the old carpet needed to be scraped off, followed by a series of sanding that consisted of 7 different grits to achieve the final result. Restoring original floors is a passion because it adds character to a home and is a nice conversation piece.

Dining room table build. The top is furniture grade pine. This took considerable effort to join and flatten. The legs were notched out to add character and I used the R.O. bit to add a reverse crown effect... . The end result turned out very well.

Progress pictures of our latest build. This bar is in a smaller basement, so space is key. It was decided that a dry bar (no water) was the best course of action due to not wanting to cut into the concrete floor and being budget conscious is key.

Key features are 100 year old reclaimed barn wood and acacia butcher block.

We completed another deck project. This time, though, major rot was discovered, and the beginning portion of the deck had to be demolished which was not part of the original plan.

To fill the void and to raise the grade, a retaining wall had to be built, and 4 yards of gravel was needed to be put in place and plate tamped. We added existing pavers to support the stairs. The railing is a modest pro sienna treated lumber. The porch addition required re-structuring as well.

Overall, it was extremely hot weather work that resulted in a happy customer - this matters the most.
