rcs began as a specialized retail contractor in 1996 doing “live” grocery store renovations for clients such as Pete Luckett of Pete’s Frootique and Sobeys Inc. Our passion for our work, and our treasured client relationships have enabled us to grow steadily since our inception. We now have a head office in Bedford, Nova Scotia and a regional office in Moncton, New Brunswick. We offer expanded works in office and leaseholds, base building, commercial and institutional re-construction as well as hospitality building and renovation.

🚧 Project Spotlight: Irving Goobies NL
Trans Canada Highway, Goobies, NL

Goobies has always been a junction, first for the railway, then for the lumber trade, and now for everyone crossing Newfoundland by road.

rcs construction completed a major project for Irving Oil there: demolishing and clearing the existing Big Stop site, then building a new 11,250 sf Irving travel centre from the ground up.

Inside, the Junction restaurant tells the town's story through its architecture. Dark timber brackets frame wood-slat ceiling canopies. Brick feature walls and reclaimed plank cladding surround a curved timber sawmill wheel. Upholstered booths and wood-look flooring warm the room. A heritage corridor with historical panels leads guests from the entrance to the dining room. On the retail side, the convenience store, coffee bar and hot food counter are laid out so customers can move through quickly.

Outside, a stone-accented gabled facade, fuel canopy and large parking area are sized for trucks and cars alike.

It all started in 1996 as Retail Construction Specialists, with a promise to deliver high-quality construction and superior client service. Since then we've grown from our first office on Morris Drive to offices in Halifax, Moncton and St. John's, serving clients across Atlantic Canada.
