🚧 Project Spotlight: Bear River Community Multi-Purpose Building
📍 48 Reservation Road, Bear River, Nova Scotia

A distinctive circular plan is beginning to take shape at the Bear River Community Multi-Purpose Building, a new Base Building project for Bear River First Nation.

The 13,625 sq. ft. facility is being developed as a multi-purpose community space supporting cultural, recreational, educational, and community events.

Bear River First Nation is a Mi’kmaq community with a strong connection to culture, community, education, and the surrounding land. The new facility adds an important piece of community infrastructure to support residents and future generations.

As construction progresses, the building's circular architectural form is becoming increasingly visible, creating a strong and recognizable presence on the site.

🚧 Project Spotlight: Milestones Grill + Bar
Location: Dartmouth, Nova Scotia

rcs construction completed the full interior fit-up for the premier Nova Scotia location of Milestones Grill & Bar at MicMac Mall. The project transformed a former retail unit into a refined casual fine-dining space featuring deep blue banquettes, warm wood tables, custom metal screens, wood-slat ceilings, and sculptural pendant lighting. A central bar with marble surfaces and integrated wine storage anchors open dining zones designed for hospitality, comfort, and lively energy. Fire-rated construction and precise coordination of finishes and equipment delivered a fully operational restaurant that supports Milestones’ focus on familiar favourites with a modern twist in an atmosphere built for connection and celebration.

🚧 Project Spotlight: Conseil Scolaire Acadien Clare
Location: Clare, Nova Scotia

August 15 marks National Acadian Day, and we’re highlighting École Baie Sainte-Marie, one of our school projects in Clare.

The 57,174 sq. ft. , two-storey elementary school will serve the French-speaking community of Clare and surrounding areas from Grandir en français through Grade 6, with visual arts and stage spaces, a soccer field, basketball court, and playground, while rcs construction’s work includes the base building from foundation through interior fit-up and completion, with opening scheduled for 2026.

🚧 Project Spotlight: Clayton Park-Fairview School
Location: Clayton Park, Halifax, Nova Scotia

For International Youth Day, we’re highlighting Clayton Park-Fairview School, a 130,000 sq. ft. community hub designed to provide flexible, accessible, and adaptable learning environments for students in Grades 6-9.

rcs construction is working alongside CS&P Architects, Lydon Lynch, DPW, EECD, HRCE, school staff, and community members through a collaborative design and construction process focused on long-term performance and the needs of the community.

A key element of the school is its “Main Street” - a central corridor linking performance, recreation, library, and community spaces with the classroom wings. Designed as the heart of the school, Main Street supports connection, belonging, and a strong sense of community.

Natural light, views to the surrounding landscape, and carefully planned spaces contribute to bright and comfortable learning environments. The project also includes ambitious energy efficiency and carbon reduction targets, supporting a sustainable facility designed for long-term educational and community use.

As back-to-school season approaches, Clayton Park-Fairview School is taking shape as a modern learning environment and an important community hub for Clayton Park-Fairview.

🚧 Project Spotlight: AprilVets Dartmouth Crossing

August 8 is International Cat Day, recognizing cats and the companionship they bring to families and communities around the world.

AprilVets Dartmouth Crossing is one of the veterinary projects completed by rcs construction. The clinic was designed to create a comfortable and welcoming experience for pets, their owners, and the veterinary team.

The clinic was designed to create a comfortable and welcoming experience from the moment clients walk through the door. A bright reception area, custom-built millwork, integrated retail displays, spacious waiting areas, exam rooms, treatment spaces, and staff support areas are combined within a warm and inviting interior. Natural wood finishes, decorative graphics, pet-inspired artwork, and carefully selected materials help the clinic feel approachable while supporting the day-to-day needs of the veterinary team.

Maintaining the established AprilVets identity was an important part of the project. Every area, including the reception desk, illuminated signage, custom furniture, feature walls, and retail displays, was designed to support a consistent brand experience throughout the facility. Veterinary clinics have become a familiar project type for our team, with numerous facilities completed across Atlantic Canada over the years.
