You know what really gives us nightmares? 👻
A thick layer of wet leaves sitting on your lawn for weeks.
When leaves and debris pile up, they can block sunlight and airflow, trap excess moisture, smother the grass underneath, and create conditions for fungal disease. Whether you rake or mulch, the important thing is not letting heavy leaf cover sit untouched all season.
And that’s not the only fall lawn care mistake that scares us:
✂️ Putting the mower away too early. If your grass is still growing, continue to mow as needed.
🌱 Skipping fall fertilization. Fall feeding can support deeper roots, recovery from summer stress, and energy storage heading into winter.
🕳️ Ignoring compacted soil. Fall is a great time for core aeration, helping air, water, and nutrients reach the roots.
Your lawn still has some game left to play before winter, so don’t ghost it now. 👻
