Today is Home Electrical Safety Day. The Electrical Safety Authority created this safety milestone as an Ontario-wide day of action to prevent electrical injuries at home. Now in its 7th year, the goal remains clear: take action now to prevent harms before they happen.

Home Electrical Safety Day is a reminder that there are simple, effective steps homeowners can take to upgrade their home into a safe zone, including replacing missing or broken cover plates, checking electrical cords for damage or fraying and hiring Licensed Electrical Contractors for all electrical work. Even small actions can have a big impact on safety.

Immediate 309A Electrical apprenticeship position available

Applicant needs to be self-motivated, hard working, and must have good attention to detail. They must posses a valid G class driver’s license, have a clean driving record, must be customer friendly, a non-smoker, and be able to provide a current criminal reference check. Applicants cannot be afraid of heights as much of our work is performed on man lifts and ladders. There is lots of work available and some weekend work will be required form time to time. We work in long term care facilities, food preparation facilities and many homes where employees are required to be fully vaccinated. Applicants therefore must be fully vaccinated prior to their starting date of employment.

It is essential for applicants to have WHMIS training, First Aid training, scissor and boom lift training and Working at Heights training. However, successful applicants can be provided with the required training after they are hired if necessary.

Duties will include; working on industrial, commercial and residential sites. Applicants will obtain experience in installation of all aspects of the electrical trade. Service work will be required, so independent problem solving skills must be a strength. Applicant must have there own reliable transportation to central sites in Barrie and Local area.
