With the rainy weather in the forecast don’t wait for a flood to find out your sump pump’s not working! Here’s how to stay ready:

1. Test it every 3–4 months
2. Clean the pit to prevent jams
3. Install backup power—like this Liberty SumpJet - It runs on city water pressure, not electricity, so it kicks in even when the power’s out.
4. Listen for weird noises (grinding/rattling = bad)
5. Check your discharge pipe (clear & pointed away from your home)
6. Replace pumps every 7–10 years—before they fail

Don’t gamble with a flooded basement. Stay ahead with regular checks and smart backups!

Not every plumbing project ends with muddy boots and a toolbag. Some end with sawdust, a proud smile, and a working sink made for a kid’s birthday.
Built this one with my son for his best friend, and it’s still one of my favourite “jobs.”
