Not every day is spent in the office. 🔨

As we get closer to the finish line on one of our custom builds, I had the opportunity to step away from the scheduling, sales, meetings, and project management and get back to where it all started.

This week, I’m building some custom benches and floating shelves using solid butcher block, making sure every detail is built specifically for the space it’s going into.

I may spend a lot of my time behind the scenes running projects and working with clients, but I’ll always enjoy getting back into the shop and working with my hands whenever I get the opportunity.

There’s something different about taking raw material, putting the tools to work, and creating a custom piece that will become part of someone’s home.

Custom homes aren’t just about building walls and putting finishes together. It’s about the details. The custom pieces. And the craftsmanship that makes every home feel like it was built specifically for the people living in it.

The DeWalt track saw is out, the butcher block is ready, and we’re putting the finishing touches on another custom project as we get closer to completion.

✨ THE FINAL CHAPTER — SEVERN BUILD ✨

We’re officially entering the final weeks of our Severn build, and the transformation is really starting to come together.

Today marked another major step toward completion. The home is now fully powered with the new meter base installed and Hydro connection complete. Our countertops are in, the exterior decking is taking shape, and every detail is bringing us closer to the finished home.

At this stage, it’s no longer about the big construction milestones — it’s about bringing all of the details together and creating a home that feels complete, refined, and truly our clients’ own.

The final push is on. 🔨🏡

We can’t wait to see this home fully finished and, most importantly, see our clients move in and make it their own.

Today, we’re mapping out the exact tile layout for the kids’ bathroom at our Timberline project, working alongside Reis Tile Flooring

It’s all about partnership. As the builder and project manager, we work closely with all of our trades to make sure every detail is coordinated and finalized before moving on to the next step.

Today’s layout determines everything from tile placement to niche height, ensuring the finished space works exactly the way our clients need it to.

It’s the little details behind the scenes that make a big difference in the finished product.

Truss Day 🏠💪

Today is truss day at our Hughes Build — and while the installation itself may only take a day, there is a LOT that goes into making that one day happen smoothly.

In most cases, trusses are ordered before the build even starts, or shortly after the foundation is underway. From there, it’s weeks of planning, reviewing drawings, verifying dimensions, confirming roof lines, mechanical locations, point loads, delivery access, crane placement, and making sure all the details are right before that first truss ever shows up on site.

Because when truss day arrives, there’s no room for guessing. Everything needs to line up.

Today, I’m on site helping oversee the installation and making sure all that planning translates into a smooth install — and so far, everything is going exactly the way it should.

It’s a great reminder that construction isn’t just about what happens on site. A huge part of building well is the planning and coordination that happens long before you ever see the work.

One day to install.

Tupper Renovation 🔨✨

We fully renovated the entire main floor of this Tupper renovation, creating a completely new space designed around how this family truly wants to live.

We removed three load-bearing walls to open everything up and create the true open-concept main floor they were looking for. From the custom kitchen to the layout, finishes, and overall design, every detail came together through a combination of our clients’ vision and our design expertise.
