ASBESTOS ABATEMENT MOBILISATION POLICY
For Ben Waitson Demolition & Hazmat
Operating jurisdiction: Alberta, Canada
1. Purpose
The mobilisation fee covers the administrative, planning, preparation and operational resources required to prepare for an asbestos abatement project.
2. Scope of mobilisation services
Mobilisation may include:
- Initial project review and client communications.
- Preparation and submission of required asbestos project notifications.
- Project documentation, scheduling and regulatory coordination.
- Labour allocation and equipment preparation.
- Travel, transportation and equipment delivery, where applicable.
- Revisions, corrections and resubmissions of project documentation.
- Other agreed preparatory services directly related to the project.
3. Mobilisation fee and payment
The mobilisation fee will be identified on the invoice or written quotation before work begins. The client is responsible for the agreed fee and any additional charges expressly authorized under the agreement.
4. Client-provided information
The client must provide accurate and complete information, including the project address, site contact details, scope of work and relevant site information.
Delays resulting from inaccurate, incomplete or changed client information may require additional administrative work, scheduling changes, resubmissions or remobilisation. Additional charges will be subject to the agreed terms and applicable law.
5. Regulatory filing revisions
Where project documentation requires correction or resubmission, the contractor will identify the necessary changes and take reasonable steps to address them. Responsibility for the correction and any associated costs will depend on the cause of the error and the agreed contractual terms.
6. Client cancellation
If the client cancels after mobilisation work has commenced, the contractor may charge for services performed and reasonable, documented costs incurred, to the extent permitted by the agreement and applicable law.
Any prepaid amount exceeding the amount properly payable must be reconciled and refunded where required.
A fee will not be treated as automatically non-refundable solely because it is described as a mobilisation fee.
7. Project delays
Where delays arise from incorrect client information, site access issues or other client-controlled circumstances, the contractor will document the cause, resulting work and any additional costs. Responsibility for those costs will be determined under the agreement and applicable law.
8. Records and dispute resolution
The contractor will retain relevant invoices, correspondence, filing records, labour records and other supporting documents. The parties should attempt to resolve disputes in writing before pursuing available legal remedies.
9. Acceptance
The client acknowledges the mobilisation charges and cancellation terms when accepting the quotation, contract or other written agreement containing these terms.
