It's always nice to start the new year at Landscape Congress, Canada's biggest Landscape Trade Show in Toronto!
Its just mindblowing how the Industry has changed over the last 38 years with new technology & equipment!

It's December 19th and we got our home Basalt Column Fountainscape up and running again!!
After being completely iced over for about 2 weeks!

Probably won't last long as the next deep freeze and Winter Solstice are right around the corner!

Who says you can't enjoy your water feature in December in the Ottawa-Gatineau 🇨🇦 Capital region?😉

Well said from my pond builder friends in Massachusetts! I completely agree and add that the key here is that the pond water must be in motion at all times (except, of course, in the winter in our climate).
Having been in the Landscape Industry for over 35 years, I have seen a trend here in North America for many years now where many small city backyards are being paved over too much. This creates unbearable "heat island effects" in the peak hot summer periods.
We believe in creating balanced landscaped backyards where you can sit in all summer and enjoy discovering all kinds of fascinating wildlife around your water garden!🐸

It's amazing that, despite it being November 19th in the Ottawa Capital region, this waterfall is still running ice-free!
Even after a -7°C night and just over 0°C in the daytime.
Don't be so quick to want them shut down in early November!
And the wintering birds and creatures will appreciate you too!🐦‍⬛🐿

We are now shutting down ponds and other types of water features. Contact us if you don't like sticking your hands in cold water!😉

Another amazing (and sold out) Ottawa Spring Home & Garden Show happened this past weekend at the EY Centre.
I think this was the most vendor booths I've ever witnessed spread out all the way into the hallways!👊

It always amazes me what can be created on a bare concrete show floor!
Hat's off to all the companies for the many hours and creativity effort put in!

The Living Landscapes is always the main attraction with the popular !😉
Congrats to Hardscape Ottawa on winning Best Living Landscapes booth with the beautiful black aluminum louvered pergola from Lousol!

It's time to start planning for the outdoor living and gardening spaces!
We do collaborations of water garden builds with other local designers/contractors in our Industry.
Spring is coming very soon!🐸
