We are proud to share the completion of our latest refresh station at Canada's Wonderland.

This project was delivered even faster than our 2025 Snoopy Land build and was built entirely from scratch. The scope of work included tree removal, excavation, framing, forming, and pouring. Finished with FRP, Maibec siding, custom millwork, a prefab metal roof, and fresh post & picket fencing that tied the whole build together beautifully. We also handcrafted a 6-foot cupola!

None of this happens without the right people. A huge thank you to our FM team, who drove this from start to finish. And to our site division, who jumped in and helped push this project across the finish line.

We are incredibly proud of this build, and grateful as always for the opportunity to do what we do best within Wonderland.

Progress is coming along nicely at North Maple Regional Park!

North Maple Regional Park is one of the biggest and most ambitious public park projects ever undertaken in the City of Vaughan. The park spans roughly 900 acres and is being transformed from a former landfill site into a major recreational and environmental destination for future generations.

This $26 million development will include nature playgrounds, waterplay areas, skating trails, boardwalks, accessible pathways, picnic spaces, and year-round amenities designed for people of all ages.

We’re proud to share that our AlpenFury Station & Gift Shop project at Canada's Wonderland has been recognized with an OGCA Award from the Ontario General Contractors Association (OGCA).

This award recognizes projects that deliver strong performance across safety, quality, schedule, and overall ex*****on. For our team, receiving this recognition means a great deal, and we want to highlight some of the amazing members of our team who helped contribute to the success of the project.

Thank you to Leah Traviss, our operations manager, Iuliana Rusu, our Project Manager, Kyle Cole, GSI, our Site Superintendent, and Anita Sare, our Project Coordinator! We also wanted to recognize the site division for their support throughout this project. Their responsiveness and collaboration played a large role in keeping this job on track.

In particular, we want to give a big thanks to James Himburg (Jimmy), as he went above and beyond, stepping up to support operations and contributing directly to the overall success of this project.

This project was built inside a live amusement park, tied directly to the opening of one of the park’s biggest attractions. Some of the key highlights from this project were:

Over 900 m² of construction, including a multi-level ride station and fully themed retail space.

Delivered in ~5 months, aligned with a fixed summer opening deadline.

High coordination with ride manufacturer, theming trades, and park operations.

Completed with zero lost-time incidents under a COR-certified safety program.

The station controls ride flow and manages large guest volumes. It is a key component to setting the tone for the entire experience. We made sure that every detail of this project succeeded both operationally and visually.

We also wanted to give a big thanks to our client, consultants, and trade partners who helped make this happen.

A couple of our colleagues are at

OGCA’s 15th Construction Symposium!

It’s a full couple of days bringing people across the industry into one place with conversations around safety, leadership, new challenges, and where construction is heading next.

Construction is changing fast, and most companies don’t get many chances to step back and learn from each other. This event allows us to spend time understanding new risks or improving how to effectively lead our teams and solve common problems.

If you’re here too, come say hi!

Barrie is getting its first university!

We’re proud to be contributing to the Lakehead University Barrie STEM Hub alongside the City of Barrie.

Last night, we welcomed Lakehead University, the City of Barrie, along with investors and industry partners on site for a walkthrough of the future Barrie STEM Hub.

The visit gave everyone a closer look at how the space is coming together to provide a visual on how it will soon support learning for students within downtown.

Expected to open in fall 2026, this project will bring Barrie its first university campus and create new opportunities for students pursuing engineering and computer science.

Big day for our Kingston team!

We’re very happy to support the upgrades at Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area as part of Maple Madness 2026!

Maple Madness celebrates the start of maple syrup season with fun activities like wagon rides, tours through the sugar bush, games, displays, and freshly made pancakes with real maple syrup. It’s a great time to learn more about the history of our land and connect with the community.

We helped retrofit the sugar shack kitchen to help improve service flow and create a smoother experience for visitors. Big thanks to our Operations Manager, Anthony Chalmers, for leading the project and making sure everything ran well on site.

These upgrades were made possible with funding and support from the Kingston Rural Economic and Community Development Working Group, the City of Kingston, and the Samsung Community Fund.

Thanks to everyone who came out and to the partners who helped make this happen. We encourage everyone to go out and attend this event before it’s over!

Special thanks to Shoalts and Zaback Architects Ltd for teaming up with us for the design work.

Women in construction are changing the face of this industry.

Right now, women make up just about 11–14% of the construction workforce, and only around 5% of on-site trades in places like Ontario are women.

We know the numbers are small, but they ARE growing, and every woman who steps into our sector makes it easier for the next one.

Together, we celebrate all the powerful women in construction.

Spring is approaching, and construction is ramping up at North Maple Regional Park!

Our Site Supervisor, Tony De Bartolo, is giving us a behind-the-scenes look at the new edge walls.

Fun fact: We intentionally designed these walls with an irregular, 'perfectly imperfect' look to symbolize the handiwork and creativity of children.

Stay tuned for more updates!

Today, Rutherford Contracting proudly recognizes Pink Shirt Day!

What started as a small act of support has grown into a global message to everyone that respect matters... on job sites, in schools, and in our communities. We need to treat others with respect and kindness.

Bullying affects thousands of Canadian youth each year, both in person and online. Awareness creates change. If we provide a safe environment, this will lead to stronger teams and better outcomes. Small actions, like speaking up or showing support can have a long-lasting impact.

We encourage everyone to wear pink and spread awareness about Pink Shirt Day. A small conversation can go a long way!

Ever wonder what 15 acres of new park space looks like on paper?

Site Supervisor Tony De Bartolo is giving us an insider look at the layout for the new Family Recreation Area at North Maple Regional Park.

The build includes nature-themed adventure playgrounds, a unique waterplay area, an artificial ice-skating rink, new washroom/changerooms, a park pavilion, and supporting parking, trails, boardwalks, bridges, lighting, and irrigation.

With the larger picture of creating a year-round destination for families, we are providing a major upgrade to the community's outdoor recreation options.
