Apparently, the first frost is only a month away, and I can already see signs of fall in the garden 🍂 Here are some August blooms to soak up the last bit of summer—with my IPE entries and ribbons at the end! It’s crazy how far we’ve come since moving onto the property in March 🤠

Soft launch! 💐

The farm stand is still under construction, but the flowers are finally blooming enough for our first 3 bouquets!

They’re available now for $10 each at 4201 Hwy 97A, Spallumcheen. 🌸

Our first dahlia has bloomed, and we couldn’t be more excited. 🤎🌸

Farming thing has definitely come with its fair share of speed bumps, but we’ve learned so much already and enjoy every moment so much!

We’re heading away for a few days to unplug and spend some time with family, but we’re already excited to come home and see what’s blooming. After that, it’s time to finish the farm stand so we can finally start making bouquets. 💐

Six months since we got the keys to this property. 🤎🌱

Here’s a little garden update! The Three Sisters are growing together beautifully, the pumpkins are spreading, the sunflowers are getting taller, the dahlias are full of buds, and so many other flowers and vegetables are coming along.

We’ve made a lot of progress so far. Building a farm business by ourselves while we’re both working full-time isn’t easy, but seeing everything come together has made all the hard work worth it.

Thanks for following along as we build Crossing Creek Acres from the ground up. 💚

What are you growing this summer? 🌿

Hay is in! 🌱

A rainstorm in the forecast had us changing plans and planting fast. Aaron spent evenings after work and the entire weekend plowing, disking, harrowing, rolling, and seeding. Now, 10 of our 20 acres are planted for hay.

Part-time farming isn’t easy—especially when the land hasn’t been worked in over 30 years—but we’re bringing it back to life, one field at a time.
