Countless times i've gone to clients homes to replace siding only to find out the wall in behind was totally rotten due to poor flashings. This is a flashing detail ive come up to eliminate this problem. We call it a diverter, and it kicks water away from your siding instead of letting it run in behind. Pretty simple concept, but a GROSSLY overlooked area. If you have a roof that intersects into a wall on your home, have a look to see how this area was flashed.
