If you want to break ground next spring, the time to start is now.

Design takes time. Permits take time. Site prep, log package lead times, contractor scheduling; it all adds up faster than most people expect. The builds that go smoothly in the spring are the ones that started planning in the summer before.

This is the interior of a custom log home currently under construction. The timber roof structure, cathedral ceilings, and lake view through the window at the end, none of that happens without a plan in place months before the first shovel goes in the ground.
