Have you noticed something jumping from the Earl Rowe River lately? It might be a salmon!

Each year, from late August through October, salmon migrate upstream from Georgian Bay as part of their spawning journey. At Earl Rowe, visitors can watch these remarkable fish use the fish ladder to safely navigate around the dam and continue upstream. Once they reach suitable river habitats, salmon search for shallow gravel beds where they can spawn and begin the next generation of their life cycle.

Keep an eye on the river this fall, you may catch a glimpse of one of nature’s most impressive migrations!

Canada is home to many reptiles and amphibians, but due to their elusive nature, they can be very hard to spot in the wild. Provided by Scales Nature Park, join us on September 4, 2026 to see these amazing creatures up close as each animal is unique in their appearance and ecological habits. 🐍

Bring your own chairs and sit back and enjoy the show. We ask campers to refrain from bringing pets, especially dogs, for the safety of the animals.
