Insulation levels matter, but a comfortable and efficient home also depends on air leakage, ventilation, moisture conditions and how the building assembly is constructed.

That is why a proper assessment comes before the recommendation.

Sometimes a top-up is exactly what a home needs. Other times, air sealing or a different insulation approach needs to be addressed first.

Your attic insulation doesn’t have to be completely missing to cause problems. 🏠

Over time, insulation can become disturbed, compressed, or leave areas with less coverage than others. Those thinner areas can reduce the effectiveness of the attic’s overall thermal barrier and allow heat to move more easily through certain sections.

That’s why looking at coverage and consistency can be just as important as simply asking, “Do I have insulation?”

If you’re unsure about the condition of your attic insulation, having it assessed can help identify areas that may need attention before the colder months arrive.
