From Bare Dirt to Beautiful: Front and Back, Done Right! 🌿

In the backyard, we replaced an old timber-bordered bed with a new paver patio, natural stone edging, and fresh sod. Out front, a bare, dug-up entrance became a paver landing with a step, a walkway to the door, fresh mulch beds, and a pair of mums to welcome people home.

Same job, same care front to back. It went from bare ground to finished in just a few days, and we cleaned up after ourselves too. It's always a good feeling handing a homeowner a space they'll enjoy for years.

We're a family-run business, doing right by homeowners across Durham Region, York Region, and Toronto since 1987. If you've got a patio, walkway, or entrance that needs some attention, we'd be glad to take a look.

**🍂 October Garden Care Guide**

The leaves are turning and the air's got that real fall bite to it now — October's the month where a little extra effort in the garden pays off big come spring.

**What's still holding on:**
🍁 Mums
🌸 Asters (now in full swing)
🌾 Ornamental Grasses
🍂 Sedum "Autumn Joy" (going rusty-red)
🌿 Pansies & Violas (great for a late pop of color)

**A few care tips for October:**

✅ **Rake and mulch fallen leaves.** A light layer of shredded leaves is great winter mulch for garden beds — but keep them off the lawn so the grass doesn't suffocate underneath.

✅ **Plant spring bulbs now.** Tulips, daffodils, and crocuses need a few weeks of cool soil before the ground freezes — get them in by month's end.

✅ **Cut back perennials that are done.** Hostas, daylilies, and peonies can be trimmed back once they've gone fully brown, but leave seed heads on coneflowers and black-eyed susans for the birds.

✅ **Protect tender plants before the first frost.** Bring in potted tropicals, and wrap or mulch anything borderline-hardy in your zone.

✅ **Give the lawn one last cut** a bit shorter than usual heading into winter, and clear debris so it isn't matted down under snow.

✅ **Drain and store hoses** and shut off outdoor taps before a hard freeze catches you off guard.

A bit of fall cleanup now means less work and a healthier start when everything wakes back up in spring.

**Same House, Brand New Welcome** 🌿

Here's a front entry we just finished. We started with a plain concrete porch and a rough patch of driveway edge. It now has a paver landing with a charcoal border, new paver stairs and porch facing, and a fresh planting bed with yews, hostas, foamy bells, a standard hydrangea, and natural boulders. The lawn curves around the bed to finish it off.

We do the work right, and we're always a phone call away after the job's done.

From Worn Stone to Wow — A Complete Backyard Makeover

Full backyard transformation, all done in about a week and a half.

This project covered the whole property — new patio around the pool, a rebuilt walkway along the side of the house, and a fresh path back to the pool equipment. We pulled up the old, worn pavers and weedy joints and replaced everything with clean, tight-laid slab in a modern grey tone. We also cleared out the old, overgrown plantings and put in a fresh mix of new shrubs and greenery, finished off with clean mulch through every bed.

From cracked, uneven stone and tired landscaping to a patio, walkway, and garden beds the whole family can actually enjoy. Proud of how this one came together.

Big progress this week!

The new steps are in — clean lines, solid build, and already looking like a completely different space. We've also started laying the patio, setting each piece with an eye for that tight, clean fit.

There's something satisfying about watching a space go from torn-out to taking shape again. Still more to lay, but the bones are down and it's coming together nicely.

First day on a new project and the transformation is already underway! 🌿

We started by pulling up the old walkway pavers along the side yard, plus the pavers around the pool — the first step in any good rebuild. Out with the old, and we're ready to get to work on what comes next.

It's not the prettiest stage (dirt never makes for a great "after" photo 😄), but every great transformation starts somewhere. Stay tuned for updates as we go!
