We come with our own transpo

Laying sod? Here's our cheat sheet!

👉 Start by preparing the soil: remove debris such as rocks and weeds. Level the soil and if necessary, add topsoil.

👉 Lay the sod, starting at one edge of the lawn and laying the sod in a staggered pattern, similar to how bricks are laid. Ensure that the pieces have no gaps between them.

👉 Water the soil immediately upon installation and then roll the sod with a sod-roller. This will help roots come into better contact with the soil while also removing air pockets.

Have a lawn question? We’ve heard it all.

“How often should I mow?”
Generally, once a week during Spring/Fall, and up to 10-14 days in summer — but let the grass be your guide. Try not to remove more than ⅓ of the blade at a time.

“What sod is best for dogs?”
Look for something durable that can handle traffic and recovery. A good lawn needs to survive the zoomies.

“Can I install sod in September?”
YES. 🙌 Fall is actually a great time to install sod. Cooler temperatures and warm soil can make for excellent establishment conditions.

“How much sod do I need?”
Measure the area in square feet and check out the Sod Calculator on our website. If math isn't your love language, give us a call! 😂

Changing your mowing direction every cut isn’t just about making the lawn look good. Switching up the angles helps prevent soil compaction, keeps the grass from constantly laying in one direction, and encourages a thicker, more even stand.

And don’t be afraid to leave those fine clippings behind. They break down quickly, returning valuable nutrients and organic matter back into the soil basically free fertilizer.
