PLANTAIN BRODLEAF
The common plantain herb (Plantago major or Plantago lanceolata) is a versatile wild plant widely used to soothe skin irritations, heal minor wounds, and ease digestion. (Note: This green backyard w**d is entirely different from the starchy, banana-like cooking fruit).

Skin and First Aid Uses

Insect bites and stings: Crush or chew a fresh leaf into a pulp (poultice) and place it directly on mosquito bites, bee stings, or spider bites to quickly stop itching and drawing out discomfort.
Wounds and cuts: Apply mashed leaves or plantain-infused salves to minor cuts, scrapes, and bruises to reduce swelling and speed up tissue repair.

Splinters: Use a fresh leaf poultice over a splinter or boil to help "draw" the foreign object or infection out of the skin.

Internal and Nutritional Uses

Digestion: Drink plantain leaf tea to calm stomach inflammation, ease mild diarrhea, and soothe irritation from gut issues.
