Sometimes we can all use some luck... The project brief was to increase the existing bathroom and add a new sleeping room. The only way to achieve it was by making a giant hole in the roof, therefore exposing the interior to wind and rain. On Monday the contractor demolished the roof. From Tuesday to Thursday he built the new timber frame walls and flat roof. On Friday the roof contractor placed the first roofing layer, making it waterproof.
Luckily we experienced an Indian summer week with optimal weather conditions. Phew!

Renovation of a townhouse.
The house has a small garden with an elm tree. To compensate for the limited outdoor space, the pivoting steel windows were designed to be as large as possible to enjoy both the owner's tree and the neighbouring chestnut tree from the interior.
In the extension the split-level study room overlooks the trees and lets additional light to the kitchen and dining room.
