📍 EAPA Committee Meetings in Bologna! 🇮🇹

A productive few days bringing together experts from across the European asphalt sector!

From technical developments and sustainability to health and safety, environmental matters and industry collaboration, our committees exchanged knowledge, reviewed ongoing activities and discussed priorities for the sector.

This time, the programme also included a visit to Asphaltica, organised by SITEB, alongside opportunities to network and connect with industry colleagues.

These meetings reflect the strength of the EAPA community, bringing together professionals who share their expertise, address common challenges and work towards shared goals.

A big thank you to all committee members for their active participation and valuable contributions!

EAPA’s Committee Meetings are bringing our members together for three days to exchange ideas, share expertise and discuss the key topics shaping the European asphalt sector. As always, the discussions will go beyond the meeting rooms into outdoor settings where networking and conversations are natural. This time the EAPA members will also attend Asphaltica where EAPA Secretary-General Carsten Karcher will present.

Connecting Europe Days brought together stakeholders from across Europe to discuss the future of transport and mobility.
EAPA Secretary-General Carsten Karcher and Director Breixo Gómez attended the event in Brussels.

'Keep Europe Moving' brings together road authorities, the construction sector and road users for a detailed discussion about the realities facing Europe’s roads—from ageing infrastructure and maintenance to climate resilience, digital mobility, industry capacity and predictable funding.

The final part of the conversation focuses directly on the priorities for policymakers: treating maintenance as an investment, providing long-term certainty, preparing the network for climate change and developing fair approaches to future road funding.

📍 The 5th International Conference on Asphalt 4.0 kicked off today in Madrid, bringing the sector together to discuss the latest developments in digitalisation and their application across the asphalt sector.

The conference opened with Juan José Potti (ASEFMA), Ralf Pomp (DAV), Slovenko Henigman (ZAS/EAPA), Carsten Karcher (EAPA) and Breixo Gómez (EAPA) on stage.

Today’s programme covers digitalisation and decarbonisation, connected and driverless paving, operator training with simulators, digital transport documentation, new technologies for quality control and pavement durability.

ICA 4.0 is organised by ASEFMA, DAV and ZAS, with the support of EAPA.

The conference continues tomorrow in Madrid!
