Yakusha

Yakusha Studio of live architecture and design. YAKUSHA is a multidisciplinary studio founded by Ukrainian architect Viktoria Yakusha in 2006.

We work within the fields of architecture, interior design, art direction, and create our own collection of authentic furniture and décor — FAINA. Working internationally with residential and commercial clients, Yakusha Studio centre their approach around the philosophy of 'living design'. Minimalist, yet sensual spaces are created in the tight connection with nature and start with the freedom — i

nner and outer. In 2014, as a reflection to the strong social-cultural changes in Ukraine, Victoria Yakusha established FAINA — a collection of furniture and décor. Ancestral, primitive, intuitive — FAINA pieces take roots in ancient craft traditions and represent modern Ukrainian design. In 2018 brand launched the design expedition “Land inspires”, a unique project aimed to draw attention to the rich cultural heritage of Ukraine. In 2019, an interior project of Yakusha Studio was selected among the 5 best offices in the world (Dezeen Awards), and the studio’s founder Victoria Yakusha gained the title of the designer of the year (ELLE Decoration Design Award)

A refined palette of warm neutrals, earthy tones, and soft mineral shades sets the atmosphere of this space. Subtle variations in texture — from matte plaster to natural wood and stone — create depth without relying on color contrast.

Every detail is intentional: flush surfaces, concealed doors, and the absence of baseboards allow walls to read as one continuous plane. Light moves gently across these textures, revealing their richness throughout the day.
Furniture introduces quiet accents — deeper tones, tactile fabrics, sculptural forms — adding rhythm while maintaining the overall calm.

This is a space defined not by decoration, but by nuance.

Warm tones, soft textures, and sculptural forms come together to create an interior that invites you to slow down and stay longer. The curved bed becomes the focal point, while the textured wall adds depth and a sense of quiet luxury. Natural light, flowing through soft linen curtains, completes the atmosphere — calm, refined, and effortlessly elegant.

MINIMALISTIC BATHROOM

In the children’s bathroom designed for two sons, individually crafted sinks and cabinets provide not only functionality but also concealed storage. In the master bathroom, the walls are adorned with natural marble, and the doors are made from the same material, creating the illusion of their absence.

APARTMENT BY YAKUSHA STUDIO

The apartment fully embodies the architectural approach of Yakusha, which views space primarily as the interaction of volumes and textures. The studio’s affinity for natural materials and architectural principles is evident in this project. The simplicity and absence of decorative elements reflect the family’s character and lifestyle.

Various textures and wall materials create the impression of a seamless canvas: concealed doors, absence of baseboards, an illusion as if it’s a single surface. In this context, the use of furniture serves as an accent.

Two principles define the Hmara project: lightness and a deep connection with nature.
Hmara is conceived as a calm, immersive environment — a space where visual noise is reduced and sensory balance is restored.

This approach to live minimalism creates interiors that feel intentional, timeless, and emotionally grounding.

Office hall b14

As the contrast of opposites — is the key approach of Yakusha studio, everything in the interior is designed with this method.

The wide, bronze reception contrasts with the dark shaded wall - is the other special thing of this interior. Asymmetrically designed desktop grounds the airy space. It’s covered with a paint with bronze particles, which gives a glossy finish and reflects some parts of the interior.

We are inviting you to discover our projects on the website.
