📢 Preparing the energy and climate policy framework for the decade ahead!

We welcome the European Commission’s launch of the revision of the Governance Regulation on the Energy Union and Action, a major step in strengthening EU & climate governance. This process is key to ensuring the preparation of the energy and climate policy framework for the decade ahead, and we are proud that is actively contributing to this important discussion. 🌐

A central focus of this revision is the evolution of the Energy and Climate Plans ( ) into genuine investment plans that efficiently direct public and private funding towards the actions. This shift could unlock stronger investment signals and accelerate real-world impact across sectors, especially in and . 🌱

Energy transition = energy independence! The World Sustainable Energy Days (WSED) are a leading annual conference on the energy transition and climate neutrality with over 650 participants from more than 60 countries.

🔍 REHVA provides expert input on & labelling reviews!

has submitted a coordinated contribution to the European Commission’s consultations on the revision of ecodesign requirements and energy labelling rules for space and combination .

Prepared by the REHVA EU Policy Advisory Group, the feedback reflects practical experience from HVAC engineers, designers, experts and manufacturers across Europe. 🌐

A key message: appliances are part of integrated systems, and their real performance depends on design, sizing, installation and operating conditions. Product-based regulations should therefore remain -neutral and avoid limiting , affordable and -integrated solutions. 🌱

REHVA also welcomes the rescaling of energy labels, while warning that poorly defined class thresholds, including a potential empty “A” class, could reduce clarity for consumers and professionals.

📅 The consultation closed on 23 January 2026, with adoption expected in Q1 2026.
