রাস্তা নির্মাণ কাজে FDD ( ফিল্ড ড্রাই ডেনসিটি) এর চূড়ান্ত ফলাফল হলো Compaction percentage বা (Relative compaction) নির্ণয় করা। FDD test দ্বারা বোঝা যায় যে field এ compacted করা sub-grade/sub-base/Base course ল্যাবরেটরীতে নির্ধারিত সর্বোচ্চ ঘনত্বের ম্যাক্সিমাম ড্রাইডেন সিটি (MDD) কত শতাংশ অর্জন করেছে। ধরা যাক কোন একটি প্রকল্পের স্পেসিফিকেশনে কম্পাকশন 98% ধরা আছে, test করে যদি ৯৮ পার্সেন্ট পাওয়া যায় তাহলে compaction pass কিন্তু যদি compaction 98 % এর কম হয় তাহলে পুনরায় compaction করতে হবে।
ধরি maximum dry density (MDD) - 2.0 g/cc, field dry density (FDD) - 1.96 g/cc. তাহলে relative compaction - FDD/MDD *100 = 1.96/2.00 * 100 = 98%, তাহলে কম্প্যাকশন পাস।
