Michael Sorkin Studio

The Michael Sorkin Studio has - for thirty years -undertaken projects around the world and engaged in important theoretical work. The Studio takes a special interest in the design of cities and in the question of sustainable architecture and infrastructure. The firm is also known for the singularity of its formal research which ranges from its current commission to design district housing in Tianjin, China to the planning of a highly sustainable new town in Turkey. The studio has extensive experience of and fascination with waterfront designs, which include projects in Shanghai, Hamburg, New York, Cleveland, Chungcheong (Korea), Berlin, Almere (Netherlands), and it loves the challenge of
beautifully managing this most important urban gradient. The Studio operates in parallel with Terreform, a non-profit, that undertakes research and independent advocacy planning.
