আজকের বিষয় ঃ ক্লিয়ার কভার(Clear cover)।
সাধারণত, সাধারণ আবাসিক ভবনের ছাদ বা ফ্লোরের স্লাবের ক্লিয়ার কভার ১৫ থেকে ২০ মিলিমিটার হয়ে থাকে।
স্লাবের ক্লিয়ার কভারের বিস্তারিত মাপ
সাধারণ মান:২০ মিলিমিটার (০.৭৯ ইঞ্চি) বা ১৫-২০ মিমি।
টপ ও বটম:স্লাবের উপরের দিকে (Top) এবং নিচের দিকে (Bottom) একই মাপে সাধারণত ৩/৪ ইঞ্চি বা ২০ মিলিমিটার কভার রাখা হয়।
পরিবেশগত ভিন্নতা:লবণাক্ত বা আর্দ্র পরিবেশে ডিজাইনের ওপর নির্ভর করে কভারের পরিমাণ কিছুটা বাড়ানো হতে পারে।
Cover to Reinforcement Clear cover is the minimum distance between the outer surface of the concrete and the nearest surface of the reinforcing steel (rebar).
It is provided to: Protect steel from corrosion Ensure proper bond between steel and concrete Provide fire resistance Improve the durability and life of the structure Standard Clear Cover Requirements (Common values from codes like ACI, BS, IS)
1. Footings 50 mm
2. Columns 40 mm
3. Beams 25–40 mm (commonly 25 mm)
4. Slabs 15–20 mm (commonly 20 mm)
5. Staircases / Retaining Walls / Sunshades 20–30 mm
6. Water Retaining Structures (Tanks, Reservoirs) 40–50 mm (higher because waterproofing and durability are critical)
