ECHOS OF TRANQUILITY
An interior project located in Lalbagh, Old Dhaka, is designed as a balanced contemporary living environment where functionality and refined aesthetics coexist together. The surrounding context—rich in cultural and visual texture—initially posed a challenge due to its strong, often saturated and overwhelming presence. However, rather than disregarding these influences, we tried to embrace them as a guiding force in the design, translating familiar boldness into a controlled and harmonious expression.
A neutral base palette of warm beige stone flooring, textured plaster, and soft off-white walls establishes visual continuity and enhances the sense of openness which was the initial thought .Natural stone and marble introduce subtle variation and durability, while warm wood finishes in ceilings, wall accents, and bespoke joinery add depth and comfort. Muted brass and gold accents in lighting provide understated sophistication, complemented by soft upholstered furniture that ensures tactile comfort. Together, these materials form a cohesive, timeless interior that reflects contemporary sensibilities while remaining contextually rooted as well.
