Conceived as a quiet dialogue between permanence and nature, the grave reinforces its edges against monsoon erosion while avoiding the heaviness of a solid enclosure.

The permeable red brick form introduces transparency and contrast within the surrounding greenery, allowing the boundary to gently dissolve into the landscape.

Integrated planter boxes soften the passage of time with signs of renewal and life, while the nameplate becomes part of the architectural composition, creating a serene space of remembrance that is both resilient and timeless.

We, Interspace Studio, are deeply grateful to Almighty Allah for granting us the honor of winning First Prize in the open competition to design Shaheed Abu Sayeed Gate of Begum Rokeya University.

Shaheed Abu Sayeed was martyred on this very ground. His sacrifice ignited a fire across the nation against tyranny and sparked a mass awakening. Rising from the exact site of his martyrdom, the two arcs stand as enduring symbols of that historic uprising, echoes of a people who refused to remain silent.

These twin forms grow into towering curved walls held apart by a narrow passage, a journey through darkness that reflects the nation’s struggle before freedom slowly broke through. A deliberate void carved within the walls marks the collective sacrifices of countless heroes, transforming the passage into a gateway that leads toward a land of dignity, courage, and freedom.
