বাংলাদেশে "স্থপতি" উপাধি জাতীয় বিল্ডিং আইন (BNBC) দ্বারা সুরক্ষিত। অথচ অনেকেই নিজেদের নামের আগে "আর্কিটেক্ট" বা "স্থপতি" বা "ইন্টেরিয়র স্থপতি" বা "আর্কিটেক্ট ইঞ্জিনিয়ার" লিখে সাধারণ মানুষকে প্রতারণা করছে।
এরা স্থপতি নয় — প্রতারক!

মনে রাখবেন — কেবল বাংলাদেশ স্থপতি ইনস্টিটিউট (IAB)-এর অনুমোদিত সদস্যরাই স্থপতি।
যাদের নাম IAB ডিরেক্টরিতে নেই তারা কোনোভাবেই "স্থপতি" উপাধি ব্যবহার করতে পারে না। এছাড়া যাদের নাম আছে কিন্তু অনিয়মিত বা সাস্পেন্ডেড, তাদের ব্যাপারেও সতর্ক হোন।
