#একটা_ছোট_ভুল #একটা_পরিবার_শেষ
রাত তখন প্রায় ১টা। একটি শান্ত, মধ্যবিত্ত পরিবারের স্বামী-স্ত্রী একটি সামাজিক অনুষ্ঠান শেষে ঘরে ফিরলেন। সবার মতো তারাও ক্লান্ত, একটু বিশ্রামের অপেক্ষায়।
ঘরে ঢুকেই স্ত্রীর প্রথম কথাটি ছিল,
— “একটা অদ্ভুত গন্ধ পাচ্ছো? কেমন যেন গ্যাসের মতো…”
স্বামী মাথা নাড়িয়ে বললেন, “হ্যাঁ, আমি দেখি রান্নাঘরে গ্যাস লিক হচ্ছে কিনা।”
সে দৌড়ে গেল কিচেনে এবং খুব স্বাভাবিকভাবে, অবচেতন মনে আলো জ্বালিয়ে ফেললো…
এক মুহূর্তেই সব শেষ।
একটা বিকট শব্দে কেঁপে উঠলো পুরো এলাকা। বিস্ফোরণের শব্দ এতটা তীব্র ছিল যে, ২০০ মিটার দূরের বাসিন্দারাও জানালার কাঁচ কেঁপে উঠতে দেখেছে।
ঘরের দেয়াল ভেঙে পড়ল।
পুরো বাড়িটা আগুনে পুড়ে ছাই।
স্বামী ঘটনাস্থলেই প্রাণ হারালেন। স্ত্রী কিছুদিন জীবন-মৃত্যুর সঙ্গে লড়াই করে শেষ পর্যন্ত চলে গেলেন…

এই দুর্ঘটনার কারণ?
রান্নাঘরে জমে থাকা গ্যাস, আর সেই গ্যাসের মাঝে একটি সাধারণ সুইচ অন করা – যা তৈরি করেছিল ক্ষুদ্র একটি আগুনের ফুলকী (spark), আর সেটিই হয়ে উঠেছিল মৃত্যু-ফাঁদ।

গ্যাসের গন্ধ পেলে?
1. কখনোই কোনো বৈদ্যুতিক সুইচ, ফ্যান বা ফ্রিজ চালু করবেন না।
কারণ এতে ইলেকট্রনিক স্পার্ক হতে পারে।
2. সব জানালা-দরজা খুলে দিন। যেন গ্যাস বের হয়ে যায়।
3. পারলে মেইন সুইচ অফ করে দিন।
4. সতর্কভাবে বাড়ি থেকে সবাইকে বের করে নিন।
5. দূর্ঘটনা এড়াতে গ্যাস ডিটেকটর ব্যবহার করুন।
