Q3: What is the difference between MCB and MCCB? Where are they used?
MCB (Miniature Circuit Breaker):
• Used for low current ratings (typically up to 100A)
• Protects against overload and short circuit
• Thermal operation for overload protection
• Magnetic operation for short circuit protection
• Commonly used in residential and small commercial installations
MCCB (Moulded Case Circuit Breaker):
• Used for higher current ratings (above 100A up to 2500A or more)
• Thermal protection for overload
• Magnetic protection for short circuit
• Adjustable trip settings
• Can include undervoltage and other protection features
• Used in industrial and large commercial applications
