Q1: What is meant by Knee Point Voltage?
Answer:
Knee point voltage is an important parameter of a Current Transformer (CT).
It is defined as the voltage at which a small increase in voltage causes a large increase in magnetizing current. At this point, the CT core starts to saturate.
In simple terms, the knee point voltage is the voltage at which the CT loses its accuracy due to core saturation.
It is a very important factor when selecting CTs for protection purposes.
