We recently completed the design, supply and construction of a replacement 2 Cell Crossflow Cooling Tower.

The original structure had suffered from a harsh and acidic operational environment. The structure was deteriorating exponentially and we commenced an accelerated replacement project.

The client wanted to use existing mechanical components and reuse fan stacks so we redesigned new stainless steel mechanical frames to accept these.

The hot water decks also now have a thin stainless steel layer on top to improve longevity where the harsh water would eat away at the nozzle openings in the FRP boards.

Another big effort by the team in a remote location, running rotating rosters to keep things moving 13 days a fortnight for the duration of the project. Thanks guys, much appreciated!

Looking back on one of our successful projects from last year.

With weeks of torrential rain and a request to bring completion forward from the original dates we still managed to commission on time with a huge push by the team. Without regular and open communication with our client this wouldn’t have been achievable.

We designed this tower so that the 36ft fans can utilise the power of larger motors when site electrical infrastructure upgrades are completed in the future allowing minimal investment for more thermal performance.

Another feature incorporated to help with maintenance is automated pneumatic flush valves on the distribution system. This removes the requirement for operators to access the cooling tower regularly which is required due to the solids in the water supply.

Even with all the challenges and time pressures, everyone went home safe and we came in under budget for our client.
