Mahbilil Festival 2026
What an absolute honour it was for Mbudg-Mburrum to be part of this year’s Mahbilil Festival in Jabiru and to also have the opportunity to sponsor such an amazing event.
Honestly, we had the BEST time! From running into family, helping set up most of the event, to having our kids working the information and merch stall and then somehow ending up on stage throwing our hats out to the crowd 😂 it was such a good weekend.
But what made it even more special was seeing everyone come together. Locals, families, tourists and people travelling in from remote communities all coming together to enjoy and celebrate culture. 🧡
There was traditional dancing, bush tucker and cooking, art exhibitions, painting, spear making, weaving workshops and so much more. The atmosphere was incredible, seeing all the smiles, especially from the little ones and the families who travelled so far to be there was honestly the best part.
A massive shoutout to Caron from Marrawuddi Art Gallery and Kelsey from Untamed Projects for giving us this special opportunity and welcoming Mbudg-Mburrum into the Mahbilil family. We’re so grateful we got to be a part of it.
And of course, a BIG thank you to the incredible artists from B2M for repping our merch and giving us a shoutout on stage! That was such a cool moment for us and something we won’t forget.
We left Jabiru feeling so grateful and proud. This is what community is about - culture, connection, sharing, supporting each other and having a good time together.
Thank you to everyone who came by, supported us, had a yarn, grabbed some merch or just shared a smile with us.
Mahbilil 2026, you were amazing!
Until next time 🧡
