THAT’S A WRAP…
on the 2026 Variety Backyard Bash - and what an adventure!!

Our team “The Sharkies” and trusty ride, Delma, completed the six-day journey, finishing in Bathurst and raising an incredible $60,000 for Variety - the Children’s Charity. That’s well over their initial target of $45,000 - and all achieved in a shorter event timeframe this year, with factors like higher petrol prices shaping the route and schedule. Didn’t slow them down one bit!

The Sharkies also took home Mug of the Bash - running out of fuel just 30 metres from the finish line in Bathurst, and requiring a gerry can delivered to her door to refuel! Honestly, you can’t make this stuff up! ✌🏽

A very special mention to the Toyota forklift crew in Albury who stepped in to help fix some braking issues along the way. That kind of generosity from strangers is exactly what this event is all about.

Happy Father’s Day to the dads, father figures and everyday heroes in our G.J. Gardner family.

Behind every home we build is a team of people who go home to their own families each day, and we thought there was no better time to celebrate that than now. We asked our team to share what they love about their dads, and their answers said it all.

Kirsty: “I love my dad because he has never been afraid to learn new things.”

Grace's new Pacific build in Huntley is looking absolutely immaculate at PCI stage, and it's not hard to see why she's been genuinely happy throughout her entire build.

The Practical Completion Inspection is the moment it all starts to feel very real. The finishes are in, the details are done, and handover is just around the corner. We go through every nook and cranny of a build, before our new owner accepts the keys. It's 100% their say. We listen. We take action on anything they need.

Six years, and a whole lot of love, Pat ❤️

One of our Estimators and a much-loved member of the G.J. family, Pat has just clocked up six years with us. It's a milestone we were very much looking forward to celebrating.

This year, though, the celebration's a little different. Pat was involved in a serious car accident last Friday, and we wanted to mark this moment with something more than just a congratulations.

In Pat's own words, he once described himself as "Meticulous. Trustworthy. Funny." We reckon that's a pretty accurate description, but anyone who knows Pat also knows exactly what he brings to this team. On top of the years of knowledge and experience, an incredible eye for detail, and plenty of laughs, he's just an all-round great human, brimming with positivity (literally the first person to cheer another team member on!).

Pat has a road to recovery ahead of him, but in his family's words - his Positive Pants are back on.

So from everyone across the G.J. Gardner family, we're sending Pat, Geraldine and their family a whole lot of love. Happy six years, Pat. We're all behind you, and can't wait to have you - and your positive pants - back ❤️
