Not everything comes off a machine.

Like this stairs. Some things are still made the old-fashioned way — by hand, with a good piece of timber and a craftsman who knows what he’s doing.

That’s the A Class Building & Construction way. 🔨

“No, we can make it work.”

That became a bit of a theme during Janine’s new home build on the cliffs of

When she was told she couldn’t have the white roof she wanted, Scott did the research, found an option and made it happen. The same went for the fencing and other details that helped bring her coastal vision together.

Now, when people ask Janine who designed the home, she tells them:

“I did that with the builder.”

That’s how we like to build — working together, solving problems and finding a way to make the vision work.

Our Story | Part 6: Doing the right thing for your family

Building or renovating your home is a big decision. We know that.

It’s common for clients to wonder, “Are we doing the right thing?” — for our home, our family, and our future.

But if you love where you live and you know it’s the right thing for your family, we’ll back you all the way.

Because at the end of the day, it’s not just about building a house, it’s about creating a home that works for the life you want to live.

Our Story | Part 5: How It All Began

A Class Building & Construction didn’t start with a business plan.

It started with two mates who grew up a couple of streets apart, became apprentice carpenters, and spent their weekends doing jobs together.

Eventually, there was enough work to take the leap and back themselves.

That was 22 years ago.

We’re still building together, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Our Story | Part 4: It All Starts with a Plan

A successful build doesn’t start with the first slab. It starts with a good plan.

One thing Scott and Rob at A Class Building & Construction have learnt over the years is that the best projects happen when the builder, architect and client are all talking from day one.

That way, the design matches the budget, expectations are clear, and there are fewer surprises along the way.

From there, it’s all about good communication, trusted trades, and being there when clients need you.

That’s how we like to build.

Our Story | Part 3: Why We Work

People often ask Scott and Rob A Class Building & Construction what the secret is to working together for so many years.

Truth is, there’s no secret.

They’ve found what they’re each good at, they trust each other to do it, and they talk. A lot.

Rob looks more after the building side, and Scott keeps more of the business running behind the scenes. They knew each other from high school in Wollongong. It’s a partnership that’s grown over the years and it just works.

A bit like a good marriage, really!

Our Story | Part 2: Keep the Job Moving

One thing Scott and Rob noticed early on? Clients hate it when a job sits idle.

So they built A Class Building differently.

Our foremen stay with the same project, and while one team finishes up, the next is ready to jump in. The goal is simple: keep the job moving and keep clients seeing progress.

It’s just how we think building should be.
