The hardest part of this project wasn't the skylight. It was everything around it.
At Bondi Boot Factory, the large-format glass roof was never the real challenge. The challenge was the structure it had to live inside.

An existing building. A fixed hob. Structural limits that couldn't be moved.
At that point it stops being about designing a skylight — and starts being about integrating one into everything that's already there.

That's where projects are won or lost. Not in the product. In the fit.

Walk on it. See through it.

Canterbury House features a 2000 × 4000mm Skyspan Trafficable Glass Floor that turns the upper terrace into a skylight for the covered alfresco below — daylight shared between two outdoor levels.

Engineered for pedestrian loading outdoors, finished with SlipSafe for grip in the wet, and detailed to sit flush within the paving.

Not every rooftop access solution needs to be a feature skylight.

Sometimes the priority is clean, simple access to rooftop spaces.

This Melbourne project included four Skyspan MHE electric opening hatches, connecting the internal spaces below with rooftop terrace areas above, all framed by pretty decent views of the Melbourne skyline.
