Handover day for James and Monica 🔑

There’s a moment in every handover where the family walks into their new home and just stops. That’s when it stops being a set of plans and starts being the place where the school lunches get made, the birthday cakes get iced, and everyone somehow ends up leaning on the kitchen bench.

This one’s a little bit special. It’s James and Monica’s first home, and they built it from scratch! A first home usually means taking on someone else’s layout or someone else’s list of jobs to fix. These two got to choose theirs instead, right down to the kitchen they were standing in.

It offers $30,000 towards buying or building a new home, and unlike most grants, it’s not just for first home buyers. If you’ve owned property before, you can still apply, as long as you sign your contract by 30 September 2027.
