You’ve probably seen us mention that we’re TrexPro Platinum installers a fair few times... 😅

But what does that actually mean?

Trex has different levels within its TrexPro installer program, and 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗺 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

🐜 👀 𝗪𝗛𝗘𝗡 𝗛𝟯 𝗧𝗜𝗠𝗕𝗘𝗥 𝗜𝗦 𝗧𝗢𝗢 𝗖𝗟𝗢𝗦𝗘 𝗧𝗢 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗚𝗥𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗗 👀 🐜

We recently visited a client to look at replacing two old decks, and underneath we found exactly why choosing the right subframe matters.

The existing decks have been built with H3 treated timber very close to ground level and termites have ripped through the subframe. 🐜

H3 timber is designed for above-ground applications. When we're dealing with a low-level deck like this, we need to think differently about how we build it.

For the replacement, we'll be going with composite decking over an aluminium subframe. 🔨

For us, aluminium is the way to go on these low-clearance applications.

✔️ Termites can't eat it
✔️ It won't rot
✔️ Excellent for low-level construction
✔️ Pairs perfectly with long-life composite decking

You can spend good money on a beautiful deck, but what you build underneath it is every bit as important as what you put on top.

This time around, we're building these decks with longevity in mind. 💪

💪🔨 𝗔 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗸𝘆 𝗢𝗻𝗲𝘀! 🏡

We completed this Crafers project quite a while ago, but it’s still a great example of why a difficult site doesn’t necessarily mean a project can’t be done. 👌

Before coming to us, our clients had spoken with other builders who’d taken a look and told them it was simply “𝘁𝗼𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱.”

And to be fair... there were definitely a few challenges! 😅

⛰️ A steep block
💧 Huge water tanks to work around
📐 A tricky layout
🔨 And a deck that needed some serious thought and planning

Rather than looking at all the reasons it would be difficult, we looked at how we 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸.

The end result was a huge Trex deck finished with glass balustrading, creating an outdoor area our clients could finally make proper use of. 🙌🏡

𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗯𝗹𝘆 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝘄𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗲.
