Today, the 2nd of October, marks the anniversary of the death of my beautiful little sister, Paula. She sadly lost a hard and courageous battle against breast cancer. She was a wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister, a cherished Aunty and a friend.

You may be thinking, what has this got to do with earrings, markets and Hodgepodge by Ann?

Well, Paula, Princess Paula, as our family always called her was a great supporter of Hodgepodge.

So many of you who have visited me at Tanderra knew Paula. We’ve had hugs, some chats, and many of you have learnt about her because I still talk about her.

Paula encouraged me. She brought some of my worse creations LOL, she liked and shared my posts, and she was always at the other end of the phone if I had some crazy new idea that I wanted to get her thoughts on.

She was that, and so much more.

As my sisters and I say so often, she was the connector within our family, and I don’t think there will ever be a time when she isn’t missed.

Today we will remember Paula, have a glass of Paula’s bubbles, talk far too much, shed some tears, but most importantly, celebrate the fact that she was our Princess. Our Paula.

Rest in eternal peace, Princess Paula.
You will always be loved, always be missed, and always be a part of Hodgepodge by Ann. 🌸

Happy Father's Day to all the Hodgepodge dads.

Today, we also celebrate all the Dads, including the men who lovingly care for children who aren't their own, and we hold in our thoughts the dads who are hurting because they are separated from their children.

I have decided to start creating some special paper collections inspired by different areas, starting with the beautiful Copper Coast.

I’ve been thinking about all the colours that make this region so special, the beautiful blue of the sea, warm sandy beaches, golden wheat and barley fields, bright canola, the earthy colours of our cliffs, and those stunning sunsets over the Gulf.

I’m excited to keep adding to these collections and, once they’re ready, turn them into something beautiful, my handmade earrings.

Thankyou to all the wonderful people who come to visit Hodgepodge over the weekend and joined in with the celebrations. I really appreciated the kind words on the gifts I made up for you all. This morning I got the Happy Birthday song from some lovely H Block Traders and a cake, just wow.
