WARM WEATHER REMINDER 🌞
With the recent warm weather, it’s time to take a little extra care while working out on site.
Stay hydrated - take more water than you think you’ll need and make sure you have enough food for your shift.
Stay sun-safe - broad-brim hats MUST be worn on site, along with regular sunscreen and sunglasses.
Take breaks - where operationally possible, take more frequent breaks and rotate duties during hotter conditions and don’t push through if you’re feeling the heat.
Look out for your mates - if someone is struggling with the heat, speak up and let your Team Leader know. Learn to spot early warning signs of heat-related illness (such as dizziness, weakness, or confusion)
Safe Work Australia reminds us that working in heat can increase the risk of dehydration, fatigue and heat-related illness. Conditions such as humidity, workload, clothing and exposure time can all contribute to heat stress.
